The new Kindle 2 boasts a sleeker design, more storage, and longer battery life. And get this, now the Kindle 2 can read to you! Now, if you know anything about me at all, you should know that reading books is not something that is enjoyable to me. However, if you want to read to me, I might be able to pay attention long enough to understand what's going on.
Surfing the 'Net more because there's just a snowy picture on your TV? Is that because you haven't figured out how to hook up your Digital TV converter box to your TV? You're not alone. Although, you could just fork out those extra bucks--you know, the extra bucks you stuff under your mattress each month--on cable television instead. No? You'll get a lot more channels to choose from. Still no? Well, in that case, you should let this real live TV station engineer help you. Watch this detailed instructional video for assistance in connecting your DTV converter box to your TV so you can receive the digital signal that the TV stations are now broadcasting. This video is actually done by a guy I know, and I thought he did such a great job that I just had to share it here!
A new service allows cellphone users to unmask the Caller ID on blocked incoming calls, obtaining the phone number, and in some cases the name and address, of the no-longer-anonymous caller. It is a new service called TrapCall, which uses a loophole in the caller ID system to reveal the numbers to blocked calls. A premium account will also show the caller's name as registered to their phone companies. The basic service, is free. The loophole is due to TrapCall forwarding the call to a 1-800 number, which reveals the caller's identity as calls to 1-800 numbers cannot be blocked.
According to Wired, you can even blacklist specified numbers.
Just when I thought Palm was dead (so I bought a Sprint HTC Touch back in July), they come out with a great looking phone that is using Web OS UI and UX and reportedly looks really great. Additionally, for some functions the Internet has subtly worked its way into the phone without being constricted to a specific app or browser. The Gesture Bar streamlines some of the navigation so you can use the phone on the go. The screen automatically rotates depending on its orientation. Plus it has a vertical QWERTY slider. You will be able to text, and gChat and send IMs over AIM all from the same window. I could go on, but why bother when you can click on the links below and find out more for yourself.
The Bahamas is founded on Christian beliefs and actions and so are the
commandments as set down in this driver’s manual. The first and most important
commandment is “Have faith.”
Have faith that you will be OK. Have faith other drivers will look out for
you. Have faith!
The second commandment has to do with traffic lights. Green means GO. Amber
means GO FASTER. Red means go if you have faith that you can still get through
the intersection.
If you are already stopped at a red light, but there is no one coming either
way that also means GO. Have faith!
The third commandment has to do with the STOP sign. A REAL stop sign has
eight sides, is RED and has large WHITE letters that spell STOP.
The Bahamas stop sign is round, with a red triangle that represents YIELD and
the word STOP. This is clearly not a serious stop sign, but offers an option. If
there really is traffic, you should probably STOP.
If you have faith and you think you can get into the intersection, in spite
of traffic, then you should treat the sign as YIELD sign and you should GO. If
you happen to find yourself stuck in a line of cars where someone has actually
stopped at a Stop/Yield sign, when someone lets the first car in, form a
continuous string of cars and drive as hard and fast as you can to get as many
cars as possible through the Stop/Yield sign...

I can think of better ways to get my 15 minutes of fame, but this guy decided
to risk his life for a Halloween Trick!
A local man who dressed up like a terrorist bomber and went into a bank
Friday morning found out no one appreciated his Halloween costume.
Local police were called to the bank, after people driving by saw a man
wearing a white robe and turban walking into the bank. Oh, and he also had
a fake bomb strapped around him. A deputy who was across the street saw
him going inside the bank. Officers called the bank while the man was
still inside and bank officials said everything was OK and that he was a regular
customer. But the man was stopped by officers as he exited the bank and
ordered to lie down to the ground. He told police he knew the people at
the bank and thought it would be entertaining to go in there dressed like a
terrorist. “In this day and age … it’s not real smart,” said a police
sergeant.
Aside from being hysterically funny, the police have a good point.
I actually know this guy. He's a successful business owner, and quite a comedian.
Here is an excerpt of a conversation I recently had with someone via instant messenger. They will remain anonymous to spare them an enormous amount of embarrassment.

Happy New Year 2008!! I wish you great success this year!
I just uploaded family pictures from Christmas. Again, you need to register to this website and be granted special access rights, by me, to view the family pictures. Email me for more information by clicking on the Contact Me menu link under Main Menu.
It took me several weeks to organize all 461 pictures, but I finally uploaded all of them yesterday! If you are a family member that has been granted special access (if you don't know, email me and ask), I suggest you login before viewing the Image Gallery as some pictures are not viewable by the general public. I finally have the other pictures I've been waiting for from the Hawaii trip. They aren't digital, so I have to spend time scanning them. I wanted to wait for those to post all of them at once. So I plan to work on that over the next... however long it takes. Hopefully they will all be up by this weekend. I think they are worth the wait. There are some fantastic views that were taken. Although, I must admit, it's so hard to capture in pictures the entire panoramic views I got to see in person.
I just uploaded forty-two pictures of Emma-Leigh. What gorgeous blue eyes she has.
Also, over the weekend I finished uploading a ton of pictures and videos to MyPlissken.com. Besides a few minor things I plan to do with that site, it's basically ready for the world. If you aren't afraid of snakes, and/or aren't freaked out by snakes eating live rodent, you should do yourself a favor and check it out!
I just made changes to the appearance of the gallery. I also uploaded several pictures from Christmas 2006, Emma-Leigh, and my 2004 vacation in the Bahamas. You need to register and have been granted special access rights, by me, to view the family pictures. Again, pictures from Kauai will be uploaded soon. Enjoy. View more pictures
I went ahead and completed enough of MyPlissken.com to make it at least somewhat interesting. Plissken is my pet corn snake, and since there are people so interested in her, I decided to create a website completely devoted to snakes, namely Plissken. The website has the infamous video of Plissken eating a rat pup that's been getting quite a bit of play and stirring up some controversy over on YouTube. Plus I've been experimenting with live streaming video of Plissken utilizing technology from UStream (snakes are nocturnal so there really isn't that much to see, but it's a cool technology to toy around with). I will be adding a lot more to to the website in the coming weeks, including several more feeding videos and picture galleries. Check it out: http://www.myplissken.com
I have finished The new Center For Pediatrics for the Pacific Northwest website and it is now LIVE! Go to http://www.centerforpediatrics.com . If you like the site or have comments/suggestions about it, please submit them on the forum on the new site.
The newly redesigned Center For Pediatrics website is ready for a preview!
The design and layout may change once it's released, but all the important content from the old site is now part of the new site and you can get a preview of it today!
Over the coming months I will be performing the following work on my other websites:
Complete makeover of the Center For Pediatrics website (www.centerforpediatrics.com). Keep checking back for the beta URL.
New MyPlissken.com website (www.myplissken.com). This may suprise you, but there are herp enthusiasts out there that are interested in images and videos of my pet snake Plissken.
Complete makeover of the 10BestAffiliates.com website (www.10bestaffiliates.com). Keep checking back for the beta URL.
